Ok so my sister in law, Brittney, is the most creative person I know and she's been really getting into Digital Scrapbooking. I told her I wanted to learn so this week while I've been in Utah, she taught me! I'm still learning all the tricks and by no means am I any good but I wanted to put up my first ones!! Brittney and I made a new year's resolution to keep a journal for the while year and if we did it, we got to reward ourselves with this really cool book from www.blurb.com. So Brittney had the idea to do it with scrapbook pages! Isn't that fun? So I'm going to try to catch up and do all my entries from the last 6 months! Wish me luck!!

I HATE LA traffic!!

Ok so yesterday my friend Sharee was down in Newport Beach, which is about an hour, in good traffic, away from where we live in Los Angeles. So I decided that I would go down there to see her and so she could meet the baby! I also have a couple girfriends down there from when I used to live in Huntington, so Sharee, Me, Angel and Emily all had lunch together at California Pizza Kitchen. It was SO fun chatting and remembering old times! They loved Eden too. She was a hit! 2:30 rolled around and the girls mentioned that I should leave so I wouldn't hit traffic on my way home. So Eden and I left hoping that we would avoid bumper to bumper...boy were we wrong! At about 4:30, so in traffic for 2 hours, Eden started to get hungry. She had spit out her binky so she started crying really hard. Sometimes if I rock her car seat it would calm her down, but not this time! So I had to exit the freeway, I didn't even know where I was but I knew that I wasn't getting out of the car, that was for sure. It did not look like a very safe neighborhood! Luckily there was a really busy gas station right off the freeway so I pulled into it and got Eden out of her car seat. It took a while to calm her down. It was so hard on me. I was crying and feeling so helpless. So I ended up feeding her in the back of the car, hoping that that would be able to get us home. Well Eden doesn't just fall asleep after she eats! That's when she is the most awake and happy. So I talked with her and we played in the back of the car. Meanwhile, Traffic was just getting worse and worse! By 5:45 I felt like I could put her back in her car seat, and she was ok! We drove around the residential streets for a little bit so that she could fall asleep and then got back on the freeway. I had the radio off so I could sing to her, so she hopefully wouldn't get so upset again. Traffic was really bad and it took us until 7 to get home. Eden did great up until 1 mile before our exit! She started screaming again and I couldn't do anything for her. It was awful. So We finally got home and I got her out of her carseat and just held her. She woudn't let me put her down ALL night. I felt terrible. Needless to say, I won't be taking a trip like that, by myself, for A LONG TIME! It was just horrible hearing her cry like that. So the trip I thought was going to be an hour to an ahour and a half ended up taking us 4 and a half hours to get home. Dang LA traffic!!!

I got TAGGED!!

Brittney tagged my blog so now I'm supposed to write 7 things about me...

1. I LOVE music. Absolutely love it. I grew up with a mom who was a piano teacher, and a dad who loved to sing. They both instilled the love and appreciation for music in me. I was in a girls choir from the time I was 5 I think, up until I was 18. It was amazing to learn how to sing with a group and learn the theiry of music. My mom also taught me the piano. Although I don't 'tell' anyone I can play, I do. Not great, but I can definately sit down and play. My dad wishes I would put my talent of singing out there more, but it's really hard for me to just offer things like that. I really do love to sing but I have a little bit of stage fright!!!

2. I have 2 cats! Thomas and Jr. We love them SO much. They're strays. We got Thomas before we were married. He was the cutest kitten...a little mean, but he was very cute. We had him for about a year and a half before we found Jr. Christian was over at his friends Jake's house and this little kitten came up to him and wouldn't leave him alone. He looked EXACTLY like a little Thomas. So he brought him home and Jr. became a member of our family! Thomas and Jr. got along so well! They wrestled and cleaned each other and just became best of friends! We love them. Before we had our baby, we treated them like our children!

3. When I was younger, like starting in 4th grade, I used to do a lot of acting. I was in quite a few musical theater productions, like Annie, and My boyfriend's Back, and a few others. I was also in a play that was all about peer pressure in schools. We went around to a few schools to perform it, and it was made into a video that would be shown in schools! Crazy huh?

4. I love to read. I'm not as good at it as I wish I was. I just need to be more disciplined at it. But I do love reading when I actually sit down and do it. My favorites as of late are, Twilight, New Moon, all the Harry Potter's, The Red Tent, and The Davinci Code. Since I've had my daughter I haven't been able to find the time to atart a new book! But I think the next one I start is going to be Life of Pi. My sister read it and said it was excellent. I too have been to the Hansen Family book club a couple of times and it was so fun do to with them. I'm sad that I can't be a part of it during the summers!

5. I had a 3.8 GPA in college!!! Who would believe that huh? But I really did. Christian would laugh and say it was because I went to Rick's College and apparently the classes are WAY easier there, but I'd like to think that maybe I do have some book smarts. It's funny because I really didn't do too much homework and when I would study, it was usually the day of or the night before something was due! But when you look at my college transcript for 2 years my cumulative GPA was 3.8! You would never guess!!!

6. I am TERRIFIED of Tornados. TERRIFIED! There are quite a few tornados and even more tornado warnings in Texas, where my family lives. Whenever the sirens would go off near our house, I would feel like I was having a panic attack! They scare me so much. You have absolutely no control if you're in one. Can you imagine being picked up and flung (I don't know if that a word but it fits what I'm trying to describe) around by winds that are so strong and so fast? It would be awful. Needelss to say, if we ever make it back to the great state of Texas, we're having a cellar with no windows and a matress!

7. I was a cheerleader! HAHAHA...I know everyone who knows me and is reading this is like "what???" but yes I was a cheerleader the the Parkside Pythons in 6th and 7th grade! Can you imagine it? It's not something I like to admit but while I was doing it, it was pretty fun! I can still remember some of the cheers...now that's funny!

Well I think I've let enough info about myself get out in the open! Let's learn more about these girls...I tag Mandy, and Emily! Can't wait to read about your 7 interesting facts!

Starting my own Blog!!

Ok...so I decided that I wanted to start my own blog! I have one for my family, but I use that one mostly to keep my family up to date with our new daughter, Eden. Well a little bit about myself, I'm 26, married to a wonderful man, and I'm a new mother. I just had a baby in April and I'm enjoying every minute of it. I'm origionally from Alberta, Canada, where I lived until I was 18 and then my family deicded to move all the way to the great state af Texas. They've lived there for 8 years and they love it! I lived there off and on, while I was going to college and having fun adventures. I actually met my husband, Christian in Dallas. We were in the same singles ward while he was down there working. We met and fell in love and were married in the American Fork, Utah Temple on March 25th, 2005. Since we've been married we've had the chance to live in Chicago and currently, Los Angeles. We've also been able to travel a ton! When we decided it was time to have a baby, it took us a few months until we got the good news. The pregnancy was pretty tough and will not do it again anytime soon!!! It was definately worth it though, for the amazing, beautiful little baby girl that we were blessed with. She's the cutest thing! I love her so much. Christian is such and amazing Dad too. I fall in love with him all over again when I see him with her. I'm currently a homemaker and don't plan on working while I'm a mother. It's the grestest job I could ever have! Hopefully I can keep up to date with this blog. My sister-in-law, Brittney, and I are doing this new years resolution where if we keep a journal once a week for a year, then at the end of that year we get to put it together in this really cool book online. It will be VERY cool once it's all put together. Hopefully this blog will help me to do my journal! Brittney has been doing hers with digital scrapbooking. She's SO creative! I'm really excited to keep you all up to date with me and my life!
